Beijing Beef

Beijing Beef

Cook Time:15-25 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes to an hour
Ingredients:
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce 
  • 4 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 a bottle of sweet and sour sauce(12 oz)
  • 1lb Sirloin Tip Steak Thin Cut
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 eggs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 tbsp water
Directions:
  1. Cut steak into bite sizes pieces and put them into a gallon size Ziploc.
  2. Mix 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp corn starch, 2 tbsp sesame seeds, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, 2 eggs, salt and pepper to taste, 4 tbsp water, and 2 tbsp sugar to create a marinade.
  3. Once everything is mixed pour mixture into ziploc bag that has the steak in it.
  4. Shake marinade into the ziploc bag and mix well.
  5. Put marinated steak into refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. While steak is marinating cut up the onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper.
  7. Once you take the steak out pour olive oil into a wok and preheat to 350 degrees.
  8. While the wok is preheating drain the steak pieces and marinade.
  9. Once drained start dusting the pieces with corn starch.
  10. When wok is ready start cooking pieces in batches.
  11. After three minutes take out the cooked pieces and dry on some paper towels.
  12. Repeat this step until all the pieces are cooked.
  13. Once all pieces are cook your veggies in the wok for 3 minutes.
  14. While the veggies are cooking mix together the sweet and sour sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, red wine vinegar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tbsp corn starch. This mixture will be your sauce.
  15. Once the vegetables are done put the steak back into the wok and add the sauce. Mix the sauce until everything is coated. 
  16. Let the sauce thicken for 2 minutes.
  17. Serve with rice or noodles.
